Could artistic expression be Valérie Marty’s raison d’être? As far back as the artist can remember, artistic expression has always been part of her world, and if we are to talk about an approach, it is strongly linked to the person she has become.

« My first contact with sculpture bears the scars of suffering, the rejection of a bruised body; my work is largely autobiographical. Women with frail bodies but heavy legs… my period of reconstruction. For more than ten years, I have been modeling female bodies. Today, I seek lightness, cheerfulness… I push the modeling to the extreme, manipulating the bodies, twisting them, taking them to the ultimate limit. I disregard unnecessary details and focus on emotion. The technique has evolved, clay has given way to colored resin, the work is crafted to allow for slender lines, my approach is contemporary and innovative. »
